THIS PAGE WILL SERVE AS A GALLERY OF ASSORTED PICTURES. THEY WILL BE OF THINGS THAT ARE BEAUTIFUL, ODD, OR ALMOST GONE AND FORGOTTEN. THEY MAY JUST NOT FIT IN ANYWHERE ELSE! THIS GALLERY IS DEDICATED TO RON ROLLINS. HE HAS BEEN AN INVALUABLE SOURCE OF INFORMATION ON LOCAL HISTORY AND BUILDINGS. HE IS ALSO A TRMENDOUS AMOUNT OF FUN.
The two pictures below are of an old store in Harris City. It has been said that the store was once owned or ran by the people who later moved to Florida and founded Publix Grocery stores.
MY TYBEE ISLAND GALLERY
GALLERY OF OLD COLUMBUS PICTURES
Many if not all of these pictures come from Mr Jim Cannon, manager of the CVS Pharmacy on Summerville Road in Phenix City and are on display at his store. Mr. Cannon has done an unbelievable job in preserving our areas history in pictures. Every year he has calendars printed and for sale that have many of the pictures he has on display. Let's show Mr Cannon some appreciation and support by buying these calendars! Leebo and I buy a couple every year. He also has the Phenix City story on DVD for sale there. Mr. Cannon haas been so kind to let me use his pictures. I cannot ever thank him enough!
DANNY BARRINGTON COLLECTION
The pictures below are from my friend Danny Barrington also known on Face Book as Fat Cat Collectibles. He posted these pictures on the Columbus, Georgia page and many of us have enjoyed them. Since that page rolls so fast, it is easy to never see some of these images, so I am posting them here all in one place. Thanks Danny!
